I was recently studying different blogs. I was looking at their setup, what information they were providing, if they had a good amount of images, and if they were more professional or casual and Here's what I found!
So, the first site I found is CNET. What you'll find on this site is similar to what you'll find on most news sites. It has a lot of topics ranging from tech to entertainment. The site is professionally organized and has a broad range of topics in which viewers may be interested in. This site is good for people who like to know what is happening in different fields, but in all honesty, I didn't find it very interesting. It didn't have a common story, everything was different.
The second site I was looking at was GQ. Now, this site is set up similarly to CNET, with different posts on different topics but, it gives a sense of community. It gives a sense of belonging, it has a shared meaning. It's a website where you can feel like you belong. Men tend to individualize and separate themselves in different seasons of life but when I read these stories, I felt heard and understood.
I may not be the best judge on these types of websites, so I'll leave you with these questions. What do you think? What aspects of blogs draw your interest?
